The Challenge

The company Guide program was a classic case of a business model outgrowing the tools that supported it.

Guides are independent sellers who earn commissions on their personal sales and on sales made by the people they recruit. It is a two-tier model: 25% on personal sales, 5% on team sales. That math sounds simple on paper. In practice, tracking it across a growing network of affiliates, each with their own customers and team members, was a nightmare.

New Guides had to fight through a confusing registration process. Once they were in, they had almost no visibility into how they were performing. Commission calculations happened manually, which meant they were slow and error-prone. Marketing materials lived in random folders and email threads. There was no centralized place for a Guide to grab product images, social content, or shareable links.

Guides who hosted sales parties had no way to create trackable event links, so the company could not properly attribute party sales to the right host. Payout processing was a monthly grind that ate up hours of staff time. And when it came to historical reporting, the data was either buried in the old system or simply did not exist in a usable format.

The corporate team was spending more time managing the program than growing it. Something had to change.
